Managed print, through people we have trusted for twenty years

We don't run managed print ourselves. We work with 1st Office Equipment, an independent print specialist based in Bath with engineers across the South West and South Wales, whom we have known and recommended since long before Lumen existed. They look after the machines. We look after everything the machines connect to.

Our print partner: 1st Office Equipment Ltd, Bath. An independent document and print company with 25 years' trading and offices across the South West and South Wales. Supplying Ricoh, Lexmark and Kyocera.

What a managed print contract covers

One agreement for the machines, the servicing and the consumables, instead of a lease from one company, a service plan from another and toner from whoever was cheapest that week.

The machines

Multifunction copiers and printers, mono and colour, A4 and A3, through to wide-format. Ricoh, Lexmark and Kyocera among them.

Service and parts

Engineer visits and replacement parts included in the contract, so a breakdown is a phone call, not an invoice.

Toner that turns up

Machines report their own levels, and toner is sent before it runs out. Nobody has to order it.

Secure printing

Jobs wait at the printer until the person who sent them signs in, so payslips and contracts are not left in the tray.

Who prints what

Print and copy costs tracked by person or department, so you can see where the money goes and charge it back if you need to.

Scanning and documents

Scan straight to email or a shared folder, and document software for filing, finding and routing paper that still arrives.

Who does what

Most print problems are not the printer. They are the driver, the network, the scan-to-email password that changed. That half is ours.

1st Office Equipment

  • Supplies, delivers and installs the machines
  • Trains your staff to use them
  • Services and repairs them, parts included
  • Sends toner before it runs out

Lumen

  • Gets every PC printing, including new starters
  • Sets up scanning to email, shared folders and SharePoint
  • Keeps printers on your network secure and up to date
  • Watches toner and faults alongside the rest of your network
  • One number to ring, whichever side the problem is on

How it works

There are no prices on this page because there is no standard contract. What you pay depends on how much you print, in what colour, and on what.

  1. 1

Tell us when your contract renews

The form below takes a minute. If you do not know the date, say so and we will help you find it in the paperwork.

  2. 2

    A print review

How many machines you have, what they print, and what you pay now - including the per-page charges that rarely make it onto the front of the contract.

  3. 3

A quote to set against what you have

Priced for your business, in good time before your notice period. If what you have is already good value, we will tell you that too.

Why we ask for the renewal date first. Copier and print contracts commonly renew on their own unless notice is given, and the notice period can be three months or more. Find out at the last minute and the choice has already been made for you.

It is usually on the first page of the agreement, or on the supplier's invoice. If you can't find it, send us what you have and we'll look.

Tell us when your contract renews

We'll be in touch well before your notice period with a review and a quote. No obligation, and if you're happy where you are, we'll leave it there.

  • Existing Lumen customers: it goes straight onto your account
  • Nothing is passed to anyone without your say-so

Rather talk it through?

Ring the main line and ask about print. Have your current contract to hand if you can.
